I am really a fan of reality shows. One of the reality shows that I really tune in to every week is The Amazing Race. I am the adventurer type and when I see the heart-pounding action on television, it really gets into me. One of my favorite episodes was when they visited my hometown in Alberta, Canada. At first, I was really surprised to see Calgary being featured in the American series.

I was really amazed at how creative the team were with the tasks they did with different hotels in Calgary. Aside from the fact that it was held in my home city, it was really an amazing episode as they also flew to New Zealand in this leg. New Zealand is really an amazing country so I felt excited about the tasks they would face in the upcoming leg. Looks like the race is getting more intense every episode! Now, it’s down to the final five teams, I really hope that my favorite team wins this edition!

Ottawa is not only the capital of Canada but a great travel destination in its own right. Sometimes a little passed over by tourists anxious to make their way to the larger cities of Montreal or Toronto, it nevertheless has a lot to offer. Many people come to see the Parliament Buildings, where the Canadian government carries on its business, and the style and history surrounding this part of the city make it a memorable trip for those who do choose to visit. The variety of attractions on offer in the city means that you will probably want to stay for a while, and if so then you’re in luck; as the hotels Ottawa has are of high quality and can provide you with everything from palatial five star blocks to homey family run inns. You’ll be glad of the warmth in the depths of the freezing Canadian winters, and grateful for the air conditioning in the sometimes surprisingly hot summer months!
